Adult Adoption Document Preparation

$400

This package is for a simple, uncontested adult adoption in Oklahoma—when the adult being adopted consents and the adopting parent(s) agree. It’s a great fit for stepparents, relatives, or long-time caregivers/mentors who want to make the relationship legal. If the adopting parent is married, the spouse’s written consent is required. (Adult adoptions are filed in the county where the adoptive parent lives. See 10 O.S. § 7507-1.1.)

What you get

  • Court-ready documents prepared for your situation: Petition, Notice of Hearing, Adoptee’s Consent, Consent of the Adoptive Parent’s Spouse (if needed), and Decree of Adoption (with optional name-change language if requested).

  • Step-by-step filing and hearing instructions, checklists, and a simple hearing script.

  • Email/text support from start to finish—so you always know what comes next.

  • Most packages are prepared within 48–72 hours after we receive your information.

Additional costs you pay directly to others

  • Court filing fee: $184.14 (paid to the Court Clerk; card payments may include a processing fee).

  • Notary: usually $5–$15 (banks, tag agencies, or online notaries).

  • Certified copies of the Decree: small per-copy fee (recommended 3–5 for SSA, DMV, banks, insurance).

  • Vital Records fees if you request a new/updated birth certificate (Oklahoma or another state).

  • If a judge orders a brief investigation/background check (not common in adult adoptions), any cost is separate.
